Continuing Medical Education or abbreviated as CME, refers to educational events that have been approved for CME credits.
CME comprises of educational activities which serve to sustain, develop, or enhance the knowledge, skillset, professional performance and relationships that a physician uses to provide services for the patients, public, and the profession.
For certain healthcare certifications and licensure, CME is the obligatory. CME credits are imperative for a physician to fulfill the specified number of credits required by hospitals to either maintain medical licenses, or to remain credentialed to see patients. The foremost objective of the CME is to increase the information through different official courses, conferences, symposium and workshops.
At Patel Hospital CME was started since 2005. Postgraduate Medical Education Department (PGME) conducts CME at Patel Hospital. CME, workshops and symposium also organize by different departments for medical awareness and they also formulate it for house officers. One hour workshop organizes by department at every Friday.
